If you are reading this it is probably because you either know somone who knows Tina Guzman or you know her. You may know her as Tina, T, Tinita, Tia, Titi, "Yo, T", or any number of endearing names we call her. We all know her and love her and right now she needs our help. On August 31st 2014, Tina was involved in a life altering event. While golfing, Tina was hit in the eye with a stray ball. As a result, she lost her left eye and suffered numerous broken bones in her face. The road to recovery has been a long and difficult one, but Tina is a fighter. Adriana has been by her side the entire time helping with her recovery and has been her strength. Tina is, and has always been responsible. She has health insurance, but the cost of treatment and everyday living is mounting. Just to get to her appointments costs over $150  dollars a week. Her insurance also declined payment for many of the costs already incurred. The accident happened while out of state, who know they wouldn't cover anesthesia while they operated on her eye to try and save it. Let alone the ambulance ride to the hospital after the injury. She will be able to go back to work after her recovery but that may still be a while. She needs our help. I spoke to Tina shortly after the accident and she said to me, "I never really took it seriously when people said, 'Your life can change in a second!'" That was partially true. What has not changed is that Tina still has people around her who love her and are willing to help. They say, "Sometimes it takes a village." Well, it time for #TeamHazelEye to step up and relieve some of the burden. Let's all do our part to help Tina and Adriana get through this challenging time.
