Dexter Henry McDade was born June 19,2012 to Jerred and Alexis McDade, and two sisters Gracie and Jadyn. At two weeks old he was admitted to Arkansas Children's hospital, and after many tests was found out he was in kidney failure. He began dialysis just a few days later. In October of 2012, during a routine ultrasound, a Wilms tumor was found on his right kidney. He had both kidneys removed and went through 5 months of chemotherapy. He is currently two years cancer free! Dexter was finally big enough in August of 2014 to start looking for a kidney match. Due to some bladder complications, he will not go on the deceased donor list, but would need a living kidney donor. Dad was ruled out due to incompatible blood type. After many months of tests, Mom is a match and transplant date is set for July 14th!! This day has been three years in the making!
