Our robotics club is as close to real world engineering as any high school student can get and often guides students into engineering careers. Please help our team promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for Acadiana! April 05, 2014 Team Phenomena (FIRST Team 3616) was one team of a three team alliance who won the Bayou Regional Competition in Kenner securing a spot at the championship in St. Louis, Missouri April 23 - 26, 2014!
The cost to run a robotics club is expensive and wouldn't be possible without the help of our community. A registration for one Regional competition is $5,000! Advancement to Championships requires another $5,000 as well as other expenses such as travel and lodging.
Our sponsoring school is Comeaux High School however we are unique because we are open to any Lafayette Parish high school student: private, public, and home schooled alike.
Students get to:
* Learn from professional engineers
* Build and compete with a robot of their own design
* Learn and use sophisticated software and hardware
* Compete and cooperate in alliances and tournaments
* Earn a place in the World Championship
* Qualify for over $18 million in college scholarships
