I am sorry to have to tell you Mr. Cooke, but the mass in your chest is CANCER. Those are the words Rusty Cooke heard in January of this year. Not just any cancer but precursor T cell lymphoblastic non- hodgkins lymphoma/leukemia. A cancer so rare that only 2% of all non-hodgkins patients ever encounter it.
He was devastated. He has not been able to work since that day. Disability has been applied for but will take months to go into effect. His wife works for a non-profit and has become the sole provider, caregiver, and mother and father to their child.
Rusty is 33 years old and has been married for 13 years to Erika and they have a seven year old daughter
named Tori. He has worked since he was old enough to work.
Now he cannot work and is facing a grueling year of chemo and stem cell transplants that will ravage his body. Beginning in April he and a caregiver will be required to travel to Nashville for a minimum of 100 days of treatment.
We are attempting to raise the money for them to be able to stay there while he goes for daily treatments.
