New Lungs for Kristal

Hi my name is Kristal True and I was born with Cystic Fibrosis. I have a brother with CF too. This is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys and intestine. There is no cure for cystic fibrosis. Long-term issues include difficulty breathing and coughing up sputum as a result of frequent lung infections. Other symptoms include sinus infections, poor growth, fatty stool, clubbing of the finger and toes, and infertility in males among others. Different people may have different degrees of symptoms. I am mostly affected by the lungs and intestine. As lung infections worsen, lung function decline. Then there is no other option but a lung transplant. This is where I am at. You may look at my pictures and say, you look fine or I do not see anything wrong with you. I have heard this more times than I can remember. The battle is going on inside of my body. This is very hard for me to come to terms with the fact that I need new lungs. And it is even harder to ask for help. This is just the beginning of a long road and I am asking if you would keep me in your prayers and help with any donation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
