TCHS Choir London/Paris Tour 2015
The Trenton Central HS Inspirational Choir is honored to have been selected to perform in Europe July 15-22, 2015. The choir is an "award-winning" choir that has toured the United States, Bahamas, and Canada. They have won numerous national choral awards in such cities as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Virgina, Houston, and Toronto. The choir also had the great opportunity to perform in Italy at the Vatican during the 1970's.
This year the choir is planning to return to Europe after 45 years and tour London and Paris. In addition, the choir will also perform and visit other cities such as Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Stonehenge, Bath, and Versaille. They need your support to help make this dream a reality.
The cost for each student is $3,749. We are hoping to take 40 people on this landmark tour which brings the total cost to $149,960.
It should be noted that each choir member participates in fund-raisers throughout the school year to help defray the cost of the tour. However, we need your help so that this dream becomes a reality for our inner city students seeking to experience an opportunity of a life time as well bless other through song!
Most recently, the TCHS Inspirational Choir won the "Music In The Parks" National High School Choral Competition in 2013 (Atlanta) and 2014 (Los Angeles). The choir also received the prestigious "Espirt De Corps" award for their outstanding display of character, integrity, discipline, and spirit. Jaquan Colvin has won the national award for "Most Outstanding Soloist" at the 2013 and 2014 competitions.
Music reflects life, builds a sense of community, and helps define cultural identity. Our choir's repertoire includes gospel, jazz, spirituals, and classical performed in various languages such as German, Italian, and Latin.
The TCHS Inspirational Choir is an organization that stresses family values, morals, and high expectations for its members whether they are performing on the concert stage, the classroom, or life's stage! Mr. Taylor is proud that many of his choir member, who are prducts of the inner city, have gone on to become successful scientists, educators, musicians, and ministers to name a few professions. They are truly examples of "the rose that grew from concrete".
TheTCHS Inspirational Choir are proud ambassadors for the great city of Trenton who seek to make this world a better place for everyone to live through song. This choir uses music as a universal language to unite, reunite, and reignite communities and families throughout the world. It is our hope that you will make a contribution to help this choir reach its destiny!!
