Tatyana's Freedom Chair
Donation protected
Tatyana is 21 years old and suffers from a TBI (traumatic brain injury), she depends on her wheelchair to live. Over the past year, Tatyana's wheelchair survived a severely damaging hit and run with a truck, and was recently damaged further by United Airlines. (The frame is bent, the wheels are bent, the brakes are broken/gone, the backrest is broken, etc...) Due to the very generous donations of time and resources by others, the chair was repaired as much as possible after the hit and run. However, using it since has begun to cause serious damage to her shoulders. Managing the damaged wheelchair was difficult but doable until quite recently, when United Airlines broke her chair to the point where repairs will be extremely difficult/costly. Not only is it very painful and nearly impossible to maneuver now, but now it's become dangerous. Most of the problems (such as the bent frame) can not be fixed without simply replacing the wheelchair all together. Ever since her TBI, her parents have had to pay for everything out of pocket and it's come to the point where the family needs help. Her parents have agreed that if we can manage to raise $5,000, they can cover the rest. Thank you so much for reading this, and please know that any donation you can make will mean the world to them.
