Earthquake Relief - Albany Nepali

People in Nepal are witnessing incredible destruction, death, and tragedy from the initial and devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake and its heartbreaking aftermath. There have been over 100 aftershocks in the days after the first earthquake. Buildings have collapsed, debris clogs the streets, and the death toll is in the thousands and still rising daily. Due to the aftershocks and the uncertainty of building stability, many people are sleeping in the streets in frequent rain and without secure food supplies. Volunteers are working days and nights. See the effort of a Nepal Army volunteer holding a 4 month old baby, who was trapped under rubble for 22 hours and survived. He is now healthy and happy.

The people of Nepal affected by this disaster are in need of shelter, food, clean water, and medical care. We in the Capital District of New York can help by donating money to this earthquake relief fund and by assisting the doctors from this area who are making preparations to go there and help those in need of medical care.

We have decided to hand over the collected funds to the Nepal Red Cross Society and we are in the process of formally registering our organization in New York state.
