PLEASE JOIN HANDS TO HELP NEPAL RECOVER FROM EARTHQUAKE DISASTER
A massive earthquake (7.9 magnitude) struck our country Nepal on 25th of April, 2015 claiming thousands of lives, injuring many, destroying valuable properties worth millions including world heritage sites, and creating innumerable sufferings and pains to Nepal. Many lives remain underneath the debris, many injured are awaiting medical treatment, and people are in dire needs of even very basic survival means such as water, food, clothes and shelter. The death toll, number of injured people and damaged properties continues to rise, and misery is surging with the aftershock and associated fear.
This natural disaster is a heavy blow to Nepal which has been already struggling with poverty, and post-war reconstruction. Nepal needs good wishes and humble support from people around the world to help Nepalese with the rescue, relief, rehabilitation, recovery and reconstruction efforts. Your small support means a lot and we request you to join hands to help Nepalese recover from the pain and losses created by the earthquake. This fund will be used as an emergency fund to meet survivors’ immediate basic needs. In this regard, Guelph Nepalese Society, Canada, a federally registered not for profit organization (Corp. No: 910186-1) has launched a rapid response to support in creating access of basic needs to those who are in need.
With the generosity of some of the Nepalese living in Guelph and Canadian friends & families, and well-wishers and prayers from all around the world, we were able to raise $7000 (As of May 07, 2015) as reported by GNS’s Director and Financial Coordinator, Mr. Suraj Pandey.
Please let’s work & stand together to provide humanitarian reliefs to earthquake survivors. The Guelph Nepalese Society kindly requests you to donate online through this page to support to the victims of devastating earthquake. Alternatively, you can donate through TD bank account listed below, every penny counts! Please Donate what you can no matter how small or big your donation is, and if you can't a prayer is also very much appreciated. You can share this link with friends, family and colleagues. The collected fund will be handover to the Prime Minister Relief Fund through NonResidence Nepalese Association, NRNA, in coordination with NRN Canada. All donations to this fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts in Nepal.
