Treatment plan for Tyson

First I want to thank you for reading my story. I'm creating this for my dog Tyson. I've had Tyson for about 2 years now.  His beginning life wasn't very good. He was in a house fire when he was 6 months old. His family then abandoned him at a kennel where he lived the next year of his life. He was a scared puppy who lost everything and started showing signs of aggression. The kennel tried to train the aggression out of him but their methods were very harsh. He was put on a prong collar and hung when he reacted negatively or didn't listen to a command. As he got more and more aggressive they lost hope and decided to just let him live with no human or dog interaction. He lived in his cage and rarely saw the outside. When I met him he was malnourished and 15 pounds underweight.

I saw hope in Tyson. I saw a dog who just needed to learn what love was. I gained his trust and we formed an instant bond. I took him from his living nightmare and began using positive reinforcement training for his aggression. But unfortunatley due to his past trauma he is having difficulty in his new home environment and needs the assistance of a veterinary behaviorist. Since these specialists are at such high demand I am unable to afford treatment.

The treatment plan is four months of intensive training and medical assesment. After the four months we then reevaluate his needs and continue with his training. I recently started training to become a veterinary technician and am unable to afford this plan.

Here is an outline of the plan from http://chicagovetbehavior.com/behavior-services/

Full Consultation Fee: $470

Includes evaluation of your pet's history, discussion of diagnosis and treatment plan, a written summary of the consultation, 4 months of email/telephone follow up, a follow up visit (no additional charge) within 3 months of the initial consultation, and reporting to your veterinarian (Note: if additional visits are needed during this initial 4 month period there will be a fee of $125).

Charges for lab work, behavior equipment, and medication (if indicated) are additional
If medication is dispensed, a 4 month follow-up consultation is required for continued case evaluation and refilling of medication

Non-Behavioral procedures will be directed back to your referring veterinarian.

I feel Tyson is worth the fight to overcome his trauma in his early life that has caused these behavioral issues. I'm asking for assistance to help pay for this treatment plan so I can give him the best life possible.

Thank you,

Ashley & Tyson
