Help Griffith the abandoned bunny
Donation protected
Today at 4/26/15 one of our neighbors came up to us asking if we were interested in a bunny. My girlfriend and I actually own 2 very happy bunnies of our own and thought one of our bunnies had possibely escaped until we saw him. The guy simply couldn't take him in, nor would he know how to handle him.
Because we are bleeding hearts we took him in. As you can see from the photo he is severely malnurished and will need to be given critical care for a week or more. He is also going to have to be neutered and vet checked soon to make sure he doesn't have woms, mites, or any other diseases. We have no idea how long he was outside but from his condition it apppears he has only been outside for a few days, but was neglected and never fed for a very long time. This is the care that we have provided so far
- Trimed nails
- Cleaned eyes
- Checked for mites/fleas
- Ear treatment including swabbing with mineral oil
- Critcal care administered
- Novice health determination
He "appears" to be healthy other than being severely underweight. However; we are not vets and we will have to have him checked throughly for his protection as well as our other animals.
We ask that you please consider giving to help him, EVERYTHING that is given will go towards his treatment/vet visits/ and misc other needs. (food, bedding, etc).
We are taking him to our regular rabbit vet, these costs are what we have experienced in the past with our other 2 rabbits. Costs that we estimate you can see below:
Neutering: Around $200
Vet visits: Around $50
Lab work (culture): Around $30
Lab work (blood): Around $50
Food/bedding: Around $30
We ask that once we reach this goal to please stop giving, we are only looking for enough to help us get "Griffith", which is what we are calling him, on his feet. If anything is left over we will donate to our local humane society.
We would love to find someone to adopt him once hes neutered and healthy, but we are considering keeping him as well...so in the end he will have a good home.
Thank you for reading this far, we understand if you can't donate but GREATLY appreciate if you can share it with your friends as everything helps.
If you are interested in adopting him, and live in the ohio area, please message me through here. We will not be adopting him out till he is 100% healthy.
