For those of you that are not familiar with us, Planet-Med has a long history w/ Nepal and its people.  In 1997 we were established and began running Volunteer Medical Missions to remote regions of the country.

After many discussions with friends from the impacted areas, it is apparent that any and all aid is being directed to Kathmandu. Those in the hard hit villages (such as the Gorkha region) are on their own. With the monsoon coming and a Himalayan winter to follow they need help desperately and quickly.  Specifically, our mission is  simple: TO KEEP VICTIMS (especially children) WARM AND DRY.

To that end, Planet-Med is organizing the "Gimme Shelter" mission. We will endeavor to collect Sleeping Bags (used and new), as well as funds to cover the purchase of shelter kits (tarps, parachute cord etc) as well as transportation costs. Any amount helps - shipping is expensive & the goods are in very high demand so buying them there is not an option. 100% of funds raised will be allocated to the cause - Any additional funds will be distributed to victims. (This donation is true charity - i.e. not tax- deductible).

To assure the donations make it to those in the villages - we will be delivering them personally.
