Steven's Fight Against Cancer!

Steven Smith, a remarkable young man, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. Steven has had admirations of serving his country since a child. He has always possessed a leadership role in the Boy Scouts and received his Eagle Scout this past August, a few weeks before his 18th birthday. He enlisted for the Navy shortly after his birthday.
When I first met Steven, he was 3 months old in a baby seat!!! My mom started doing daycare for him and his brothers, and he quickly became my brother, and part of our family. Through the years Steven and my brother Nathan have remained very close, as they are the same age and went to school and grew up together. Steven is always around for a great laugh, or a great listener. He is a great person and I believe that only the people who are strong enough to over come something like this, are the ones placed in these situations, Steven is one of them!! Steven will fight and come out of this as a stronger man, and we will ALL be by his side to help him every step of the way!! Pictured is Steven and his loving Girlfriend Casey, with out her, friends, and family, Steven says he doesn't know how he would get through this. He is SO appreciative of everyone's support!
While patiently waiting to start serving his country, Steven started to feel discomfort in his leg in January. Doctors believed it was bursitis and presubscribed him pain medicine. The meds temporarily helped, but Steven could barely walk just days before he was to leave for boot camp on May 26th. A biopsy revealed a tumor in his leg and he had lymphoma. He starts his 14 week-long chemotherapy process on April 29th.
Let’s lift the spirits of this determined young man to beat cancer and fulfill is wish to join the Navy. Your donations would mean the world to us!!!!
