Nepal Earthquake:

On Saturday 26th of the Nepalese calendar, an unexpected 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, with Kathmadu as the epicenter of the tremors. Officials claim that the death toll has already reached over 1400 people and many more are feared to be trapped within the rubble of collapsed buildings. The earthquake was caused by the movement of the tectonic plates.

What's more is that after the first destructive shock, came 24 after shocks of 6.6 magnitude causing even more death and damage.

Within hours of the earthquake, the hospitals had filled up with hundreds of people injured. With organized rescue and relief lacking, the injured were brought to hospitals by their family and friends on trucks and rickshaws. Residents also used bare hands, crowbars and shovels to dig through rubble and find more survivors.

Again added to that, the earthquake caused an avalanche in Mount Everest killing more people and injuring more.

World-Earthquakes.com claims that there are more uncoming seismic activity in the regions where the original tremors were felt and because of this no one can go into thier houses to gather food and supplies. Thus, thousands of people have been misplaced from homes and are living outside on the roads, sleeping under the cold hard ground with no protection from the wind and rain.

Humankind has always moved forward by helping each other side by side, no matter their differences. We have been taught ever since childhood to help those in need and in trouble. Thus, i call upon all of us, who feel that Nepalese people have suffered to donate funds for this cause which will be used for relief and rescue support. Please stand alongside many of us who are willing to help. Please help. Even a small amount can change a life.

Personal Information:
Hello, to all viewing this new section. My name is Ayugma Acharya and I am 17 year old high school student who wishes to change something. I was born in Nepal originally and moved to Australia when i was in Grade 3. After my dad got several degrees in Australia, we moved to Canada.

Still i have a great recollection of memories in Nepal, such as the temples and the Dharahara tower. I have been told to leave the donations to the big organizations such as World Vision or Red Cross, but i wish to do something of my own accord. I want to feel that sense of achievement that did something to help my homeland out, even from here. It saddens me to see the great tower, Dharahara destoryed by the earthquake. It also saddens me to see the destroyed temples in which i worshipped in.

My family is also in Nepal (well I live with my mom and dad...). We have been able to get into contact with most of my family members from my dads side, however we have only been able to reach some of my mom's family members in Nepal. She has also been unable to call her 100 year old father and 86 year old grandmother. I have also not been able to reach my sister. Although i have not been able to get in contact with some of my family members, we know all are safe and sound because those that we did get into contact with confirmed their status.

The money i gather from this crowd-funding campaign will go towards the first relief/rescue organization to act--with the limited number of resources, they had, which was the Nepalese Red Cross.
