Especially an Anya who works out of of her house, a lady who writes and teaches people to cook.
An Anya like this, she needs 'a room of one's own.'
The theme of this fundraiser could very well be
'The Three Little Apartments': A Bay Area Quest for Housing
Friends and community, I need your help.
The situation is that I'm in danger of going unhoused (as in having no where to live) because this is the third time in six months I will have to martial the funds needed to move into a new place.
I'm in a 'guest stay' with a friend but that is going to end shortly. I found a place I feel good about. One that has what I need to work from home and be safe in my environment.
Putting the together money for the first/last, truck and storage, bunches of other small purchases that go with a move by the end of next week is not going to happen without generous outside support.
Your support. This is the Bay Area. You folks who live here know what housing is like.
In case you're curious and are wondering what happened:
The first move... the cause was the living space itself. There were issues with the property and its management such that I could not find a roomate to share it. Lovely a space as it was.
The second move... the roommate I found to share the next apartment with would not pay his portion of two months rent and expenses. Shouldering these 'extra' expenses is what has put me in a position of needing to reach out like this. Why this next move has turned into somewhat of a crisis situation.
Now, the third time... I am ready to move into a little studio in Oakland. But...
If you can help me get there, I would be so grateful. Either way, please pass the word on to others who might care enough to do the same.
Things are harder for me than they should be right now. With a little help from my friends I'll be on my way again.
