Steve Harms Scholarship Fund

The small California city of Visalia has been blessed for the past 15 years to have Steve Harms doing so much good for the community as a whole. As the lead pastor at Neighborhood Church, Steve radically transformed lives and gave everything to be a model of love for those around him. His passion for God and showing acts of goodwill to others is infectious and has led to amazing community projects. (nchouston.com) In addition, Steve also for years graciously donated his time as a chaplain for the Visalia Fire Department, tending to the needs of those who had lost everything. 
Tragically, Steve recently found out that he has an aggressive brain tumor and that we have very little time left to say thank you to him for all he's done to make this world a better place. On a personal note, Steve has been a role model in my life and constant figure of support and positivity. While I was serving in the U.S. Army, Steve sent me letters and care pacakges to let me know that I wasn't forgotten. When I was attending college, Steve helped me by writing countless scholarship reccommendations that helped me to get through school and graduate from UCLA. At one point my mother was homeless and Steve stepped up and found her a free place to live within a few days. There is no limit to the kindness and generosity of this man and I am thankful that at least we have the opportunity to show our gratitutude to him before he goes home to be with God.
Steve was an amazing husband and father to his wonderful family and we must keep his memory alive by assisting disadvantaged young people to attend college.
