Dear Family and Friends, Mary Martha Lovell passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving family while in hospice. A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Saint Clare Parish, 8535 Southwest 19th Avenue, Portland, OR 97219, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, and per Mary's wishes, please make a GoFundMe donation to Elise's college fund.
Mary was born Sept. 19, 1956, in Tacoma, Wash., and traveled overseas with her Air Force family before settling in Chugiak, Alaska. She graduated in 1974 from Chugiak High School and she then went on to study aviation at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She lived a life dedicated to and working for the aviation and oil industries in Alaska and Oregon. She loved to travel, and most recently worked for a French aerospace company that brought her to France several times a year. Mary was an artist and her love of the ocean was reflected in her art pieces, often using shells, wood, and natural elements in her jewelry and artwork.
Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jasmine and Ron Deschaine, and beloved granddaughter, Elise Deschaine of Portland, Ore.; her brothers, Walter Lovell and William "Bill" Lovell Jr. of Chugiak; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Lovell Sr. and Agnes Simeon Lovell; and sisters, Stephanie Moore, Judy Lovell and Joan Tvenge.
She will be missed, cherished and forever in our hearts.
