Hi, I’m LaShawn Miller, founder of Finding Justice A Flower and Vegetable Garden, a Chicago-based urban farm rooted in the belief that healthy food, connection, and community spaces matter. Our mission is simple: We grow to bring healing to our community.

Today, we are raising funds to build a community pergola at 3100 W Roosevelt Road, the future home of Finding Justice Garden: Harvest Circle—a space that will one day include an orchard, berry farm, and expanded opportunities for food access and education.

Fruit trees take time. Some of the trees we are planting may take up to 7 years before they are ready to fully produce. While we wait, we do not want the land to sit empty. We want to create a welcoming gathering space now—a place where neighbors can come together for community events, workshops, wellness activities, youth programming, volunteer opportunities, and celebrations.

This pergola is more than a structure. It is a place to build relationships, create memories, and bring people together long before the first harvest arrives.
