A Lasting Legacy for Sumaya Dalmar

Donation protected

As most Torontonians have heard, Somali trans-woman Sumaya Dalmar died suddenly in the early morning on Sunday February 22, 2015 at the young age of 26.

Allahu Naxariisto - may God have mercy on her soul.

Both the Somali and LGBT community are absolutely devastated by this tremendous loss. And yet, we are reminded by all the memories being shared by friends, family and community members that her spirit will stay with us forever.

It is in this spirit, that we are rallying together to fundraise in her honour. The money raised will support both the memorial taking place on Tuesday March 3, 2015 and to pay tribute to her legacy by purchasing a Commemorative Tree for installation in a public park.

We have been touched, truly, by the generosity of so many people across the country who have shared our grief during this difficult time, We hope you can join us in making a donation -- every dollar counts.

In Love, Rage and Solidarity.

P.S -- We will be accepting cash donations at the memorial. We will also be setting up an account that accepts donations via paypall.
