Storyteller Camp: $10 helps me get there

"Once upon a time..."
Do you remember what it was like to have someone tell you a story? Have you ever been to a live performance where you were warmly and actively included in the narrative? Stories have a magical ability to engage both our hearts and imaginations, which has lasted throughout our generations, forging living relationships and passing the baton of culture and memory to the listener.
I am Dawn Cromwell, The Story Seeker. I am a performance story artist, delivering live, oral storytelling to classrooms and other groups, both young and old. I love stories, and have been blessed with the voice and stage presence to bring them to life. Currently, I do this on an all-volunteer basis; but I'd like to expand my skills and repertoire to also become a professional storyteller, helping to revive a dying art form.
The National Storytelling Conference is taking place this summer. This annual event gathers together hundreds of professional and volunteer storytellers from around the world to celebrate the art of oral storytelling. The convention offers master classes by world-renowned performers, skills workshops, story sharing, live performances, networking, and more. Plus, it just looks like a lot of fun!
I have never been able to attend before. But, this year's convention will be in Phoenix, AZ, in July (Ouch!), which means that plane tickets and lodging will be less expensive for me than other locations they've held it at. Unfortunately, the event is still beyond our family's budget on our own. I am seeking donations to help me cover the registration fee and hotel.
My goal is to raise $650.00 by May 10th. After that, the registration fee increases by $75.00. In addition to my heartfelt appreciation, I am offering several incentive storytelling gifts for people who want to support me, including recordings of your favorite story, and live performances.
