Jamie Cheever grew up in Minneapolis, MN. She started competing in track & field in high school. She fell in love with the sport. After a succcessful collegiate career at the University of Minnesota, she ran professionally for Team USA Minnesota for 2 1/2 years. She then moved to Seattle to join the Brooks Beasts team. Unfortunately, she was soon sidelined by an injury which took her out for an entire year.
But Jamie is steeple tough. She has made an incredible comeback.
On June 6th, 2015, Jamie took a tumble on the last water barrier of the steeplechase at the Music City Distance Carnival. Instead of giving up, she got right back up and won the race, securing her spot in the USATF Outdoor National Championships.
She didn't stop there. She went on to qualify for the final round of the steeplechase at nationals, where she finished 12th in the nation.
Jamie doesn't let barriers get in her way. She still plans to make her Olympic dreams a reality. But she needs your help. She does not have the financial support she used to have after being sidelined by injury.
Help Jamie jump this last hurdle. All money will go to travel and expenses in support of qualifying for and competing at the US Olympic Trials in 2016.
