My name is Anthony I am 29 years old and I have a 4 year old daughter and a son on the way. I live in Oregon with my girlfriend, daughter and 2 dogs. I was born in Long Beach, California and was raised by my grandmother, because my father wasn't involved in my life until I was 7. My Dad has 3 other kids not includidng me and is married to my youngest siblings mother.

My Dad was born in Stan Creek, Belize Central America and was brought here to the U.S. (South Central L.A.) with his 8 older siblings in 1975. It was at that time my grandfather left m grandmother with 8 kids and never got her youngest few kids citizenship papers finished. My dad was involved and associated with gang activity in his teenage years and due to the company he kept and the mistakes he made as adolesent was incarserated 6 times in the 80's and early 90's.  Being an illegal immagrant no matter how young they were put into the "system" makes them automatically inelligible for citizenship.

My father was in Portland  Oregon on May 7, 1995 when he was visiting friends when he found himself in the middle of gun fire outside of the house. He dove to the ground for cover and the second he looked up to find safety a blaze of fire hit his face. he was shot just below his right eye instantly blinded. His eye continues to change shape because he has no control over it and will eventually need a glass eye. He almost lost his left eye due to Sympathetic Opthalmia which is a kind of inflammation the healthy eye cannot recover from because of the trauma to the origional eye. He still has visibility at the moment, but it is still hard to say if he is completely free of total blindness.

My father is a great man and taught me a great deal about persistance and faith. Being from one the roughest areas on the west coast. Removing him and his sons  from a place where we would have died trying to be successful was the best thing a father could do for any family. I Have a Bachelors in Science for Exercise science now and will be going to Western Oregon University for my Master's Degree in Special Education. I have done alot of things athletically in my life that helped me get to where I'm at currently and continue to help me reach my career goals and none of these would have been done if it wasn't for my father's support.

My youngest brother Francis Marin Jr. is the kid we as a family worry about the most. My youngest brother is in Special Education, he has seuzures, astha and sleep apnea. My father is his primary caregiver of medications and transportation to and from school and appointments. If my dad is forced to live in a country he hasn't been to since he was a boy he will have the hardest time trying to support his family let alone support himself.

My stepmother has degenerative arthritis in her wrists and knees, her primary caregiver told her she whould be in a wheel chair already and its a miracle how she gets around now. Once she goes immoble her and my brother's care will fall on professionals which will also cost our family a great deal.

My youngest sister very smart and is in an International baccalaureate in her high school right now and is on track to have 2 years of college credit when she graduates high school. Free education only goes up to middle school in Belize there are clearly not as many oppurtunities in that county as ours, for this reason if my dad is deported the family will stay to continue to get our special needs for my youngest bother, the college education for my youngest sister and the medical needs for my our mom.

My dad has been a deacon and head of the transportation ministry in his church for years now voluntarily, and is told will have a legal occupation when we find out whether he gets citizenship. Our church is behind my father 100%.

Which brings us to funding. I have had multiple conversations with my dad about the end plan. Sooner or later we are going to reach resolution. We as a family have spent over $75,000 on legal fees, lawyers, transportation, and it is still racking up. Also the emotional toll it takes on a family that apart of your biological foundation is going to be taken from you and at any moment causes extreme anxiety (due to the fact that when my dad was first taken into holding, it was during my sisters birthday and the salem police depatment with the swat team came into our house hard because of the record they were read of my fathers which was from more than a decade ago, they had atleast 20 enforcement officers at our house).  I told him that worst comes to worst after fighting this battle for almost 15 years now you could just be deported.

I would like to rasie this money for my fathers house. I would like to build him a house in Belize so he has a place to stay and establish himself and to have a place to go. We still have family there, but as you can imagine having family in another country we don't stay in touch as much as if there in the same town or state. I would like to raise enough money to send myself and 2 or 3 contractors with me to build a small house for my father. All the money is going toward Transportation, materials, and pay to get the job done. I would like my father to have a place to sleep when and if e gets deported.

It's a long story thanks for reading and supporting the cause, on beehalf of the whole Marin family thank you!!
