Speaking at the National Heirloom Expo!

Donation protected
I have been asked to be a guest speaker and farm educator at the National Heirloom Expo in September!  It is a huge honor for a first year farmer to get to share their story with the 20000 people that will fill the expo halls.  Hawaii farmers have never been represented at this national sustainability conference, so this is the time to show our local food movement to those who want to see Hawaii succeed in our food security efforts.

How can you help?  Please sponsor some of the community service that I do, and you will send me on my way. Pick a sponsorship area that resonates with you:

Educating the children and adults about farming, healthy eating, cooking, or worm raising.

Are you interested in sponsoring my food pantry donations to put heirloom squash into the hands of many grateful community members?

Or if reuse is your thing, you can helping me to expand efforts in my composting initiative where I reclaim materials from local restaurants and businesses so to build healthy farm soil.

By sponsoring me, you will be helping  to cover the travel expenses related to giving my presentation in California. The expo organizers have offered me the opportunity to be a presentation speaker, as well as providing my farm with a booth on the expo floor at no cost. The value of these offered opportunities cannot be measured. I am very grateful to have this opportunity, and I will be giving it my all. While there, I will be able to attend lectures, and learn from some of the most innovative agricultural and food movement leaders. All that I experience will return with me to Hawaii, and I will include these valuable lessons in my outreach efforts.

With your help everybody wins.

Squash and Awe Guerilla Farm is my one woman, no-till, 1/4 acre farm model that I created as a way to troubleshoot one commercial crop that failed in Hawaii. Turning to history, I as a 6th generation farmer's daughter, I decided to use ancestral knowledge, and historic seeds to find sustainable solutions to the pest problems that caused over 95% of this crop to be imported over 3000 miles. Help me to give a motivational speech to others who are looking for ways to change our food system by using our lives.  Changing our food system...one tiny farm at a time.
