On the 25th/26th September 2015, Maria, Natalie & Jade are going to be taking a paw-z from the corporate world to spend the night in a kennel with a rescue dog. We will be doing this to help Foal Farm - the rescue centre where we all volunteer - raise funds to build a new kennel block. For 24 hour hours we will live like a dog who is awaiting adoption: eating on a budget of £1.20 each (the price of 2 cans of dog food), having nothing but ourself & the dog we share the kennel with to keep us amused (no iPhones, iPads or laptops) & sleeping on blankets on the floor (where we will no doubt have a paw-ful night's sleep!)
All puns aside, we hope participating in this challenge will help raise awareness of what a rescue dog's life is like and encourage people to #adoptnotshop! With such a large amount of dogs waiting for their forever home, it is a little known fact that we still operate pounds in the UK and that due to overcrowding these pounds only have to hold a dog for 7 days before euthanising them. No-kill rescue centres like Foal Farm therefore play a vital role in literally saving these dogs' lives and helping them find their happily ever after.
We feel so proud to be a part of such an incredible, life-changing organisation and are really excited to have this opportunity to be able to give back to Foal Farm's beautiful dogs, who without a doubt, make our week when we get to hang out with them every Saturday. Foal Farm is run entirely by donations so we, and the dogs, will be eternally grateful for any contribution you are able to make.
