Original post: Over the past decade, the /Filmcast podcast has spent over 30 person-hours watching Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS films. They are terrible films, they make us feel bad about humanity, and they make us feel bad about cinema.
Despite this, we have received many requests for us to watch TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT. We don't want to see this film. We don't want to review it. But we are willing to do it.
However, in the interests of balancing a terrible act with an amazing act, we'd like to use this opportunity to raise some money for charity. If you help us raise at least $500, the three co-hosts of the /Filmcast will see and review TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT for the /Filmcast podcast.
All money raised in this GoFundMe will be donated towards the LOS ANGELES CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. According to GoFundMe, here's how that works:
All donations are made directly to PayPal Giving Fund (a 501(c)(3) charitable organization). After the deduction of applicable GoFundMe platform and payment processing fees, PayPal Giving Fund delivers the funds they receive on a monthly basis.
Charities are encouraged to enroll with PayPal Giving Fund to receive their funds. If, after reasonable efforts, they cannot deliver donations to this charity, the funds may be donated to another charity per PayPal Giving Fund’s policies.
