Skyler 2015 ISDE in Slovakia fund

Donation protected
Hey everyone!

I am so excited to announce that I have been asked to represent the United States at this years International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) located in Kosice, Slovakia! I will be 1 of 30 other riders that get this amazing opportunity to race for our country. This is a HUGE honor for any rider.

I will be riding an average of 160 miles per day for six days straight. Not only will I have to race the bike but I will be required to do all of my own maintenance (tire changes, bike work, prep etc.) This is a huge commitment from myself, family, sponsors and close friends to prepare for, to fund raise and make this amazing opportunity happen.

Team USA will supply and assist with many things but I have been asked to cover all of my expenses which will include getting my motorcycle prepped and shipped over with spare parts, tires, entry fee, travel, lodging, and all of the other misc stuff that goes with this endeavor.

It was a hard decision to make this account but with my short deadline to have my bike shipped and travel paid for I really need your help.

About Skylers Racing:

Skyler started riding at the age of 2 1/2 behind his house in the desert of St. George, UT. He began racing at the age of 4 at the local Motocross track and local desert races. In 2003, along with his Dad, he raced his first full season of desert races in the USRA series. After that season, Skyler's Dad, Bill Howes was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma cancer and went through a number of chemo therapy treatments, bone marrow transplants and long stays at the hospital so of course, the racing was put on hold. After a few years, Bill beat cancer and is still in remission to this day, although, the funds for racing were not there resume where the Howes family left off. When Skyler turned 16 he got his first steady job as a Lifeguard at the local Community Center. Once he had saved up enough money, he began to fund his own racing expenses. In 2008, with help from his parents of course, Skyler won the USRA 125 Expert Championship, his first full year on a big bike! After that year, he had a number of injuries switching to a 250cc machine and put racing on hold for a few years to heal up and finish school. After graduating Pine View High School in 2010 he got a job at Fasst Company to start funding and taking racing seriously. Skyler would be up for work every morning at 4am and off by 5pm for a normal 12 hour work day. On top of that, he trained for racing and rode as much as he could for practice. 2011 started his first attempt at the AMA National Hare and Hound desert racing series. He would race a Yamaha 250 2 stroke and come in a VERY close 2nd place overall in the 250A class that year. In 2012, he clenched his first ever national title in the 250A class and place high enough in the Overall standings to race the PRO class. He was approached by a KTM team, Blais Racing Services to race a KTM 300 2-stroke and contracted to race as their professional athlete. It has always been a dream of Skyler's to race the ISDE. After 2 years on the Blais team, Skyler made his first attempt at an Enduro style event, which was the Idaho City ISDE Qualifier. After some struggles, he was unable to make the cut. A year went by and the qualifier came up again. He had a lot more knowlege about the Enduro type event and went to give it another shot. A couple weeks later, Skyler received a phone call from the AMA asking if he would like to represent team USA in Slovakia!! At his second ever enduro, Skyler made the cut!
