Courtney Farrue, from the Hillsboro area, was diagnosed with Autism at an early age and just started competing in Special Olympics this past year. Courtney has taken second and third place in different events her very first time competing. Courtney and her family are obsessed with baseball and especially the St. Louis Cardinals. They watch every game religiously and have a Cardinals memorabilia room in their house. Her father Mike Farrue is excited to see her compete in her first Special Olympics softball events because of her love of baseball.
This little girls dream is to attend a Cardinals baseball game with her brother and parents. Sigma Tau Gamma of Southeast Missouri State University would like to help Courtney with this dream. We, members of Sigma Tau Gamma, are trying to raise funds to send her family to a Cardinals baseball game this year and would appreciate everyones help. Not only do we want to get them to a Cardinal game we want to send them to a game they will never forget and by that we would like to see them behind home plate or behind the Cardinals dugout. We are working right now with Busch Stadium to see if we can possibly get them some of the best seats in the house and also seeing if they could possibly get on the field during batting practice to meet the players.
Our goal is a very high goal because we want to make sure all expenses this family may occur on the trip are paid for. All the money we raise will go towards tickets, food, gas, etc. Any money raised above our goal will be donated to the Special Olympics of Missouri.
