Update: Founded in 2015, Shelter Island Fireworks, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization, raising funds to maintain the annual fireworks show held on Shelter Island at Crescent Beach just after Independence Day each year.
Our board is comprised of 7 volunteers who have a deep appreciation for Shelter Island and this annual tradition. In 2015, the show was facing difficulty and near cancellation. This small board encouraged the island to show it’s support of the event through monetary donations.
As a result of the outpouring of support, and we were able to host some of the most wonderful fireworks displays the island has seen in years.
Our mission is to not only continue with this wonderful island tradition, but also to support other local volunteer organizations. Last year, a portion of our proceeds benefited two groups that keep us safe on fireworks night and throughout the year: The Shelter Island Fire Department and the Shelter Island Ambulance Corp.
In keeping with tradition, this year’s show will be held on July 7th at 9pm at Crescent Beach! We look forward to celebrating with you!
