Please help Second Chance Rescue continue to save lives!
A little about Second Chance Rescue.... We are a local no-kill rescue run by a small group of dedicated volunteers, who specializes in the placement of abused, neglected, abandoned and homeless animals. We are run solely on donations and do not discriminate on the basis of health, age and breed. We take in some of the "harder to adopt out" animals that would normally be euthanized due to age, breed or health. We currently have dogs who are waiting to find their forever homes because we need to raise funds for their vetting. We have had a couple emergency cases recently so funds are low. Below are some of the dogs story's that need vetting:
Austin ~
Austin was found as a stray in Putnam County, loaded with Hook Worms, severely emaciated and malnourished. He is so sweet, loving and such a good boy! He is doing much better now and is almost ready to get his vetting done, which will cost a total of $150.
Reilly ~
Reilly was found running in the middle of a very busy intersection, running across 3 lines of traffic and was severely emaciated. Luckily one of our volunteers saw her, scooped her up and brought her to us. She is now feeling much better and has gained a lot of weight. She is now ready for her vetting which will cost $165.
Zoey ~
Zoey was rescued from a high-kill shelter when her time was up and she was set to be euthanized. She was very scared of everything and everyone, and we think she was probably treated very poorly in her last home. She is in need of vetting which will cost $135.
Dolly ~
Dolly was rescued from a high-kill shelter after she was brought in as a stray. Her time was up at the high-kill shelter so SCR rescued her. We think she is also having some heart issues so she really needs to go to the vet for Bloodwork and X-Rays. Once that is checked out, she will need to be spayed. The total costs for her are $215.
Apollo ~
Apollo was rescued from a high-kill shelter when his time was up. He's a very sweet boy that has the typical "Chow" personality. He has a tumor on the back on his leg that needs removed and he also needs to be neutered. The total costs for him are $180.
Polo ~
Polo was thrown over our gate here at the rescue when his owner got evicted and couldn't take him with. He was absolutely terrified when he got here and it took us over an hour to catch him in the front yard at the rescue. He is now doing better but is still pretty scared. He needs to be vetted which will cost $155.
Trenton ~
Trenton was abandoned in an apartment. He is so sweet and is so thankful to be safe and loved now. This boy has had a very rough way to go and even though he has been through it all, he's the best boy ever! He needs vetting which will cost $155.
Chewbacca ~
Chewbacca was rescued from a high-kill shelter when his time was up. He is just a fun boy! He thinks everyone is his friend and loves to play! He did test positive for heart worms and will need treatment and neuter which will cost $560.
Hamilton ~
Hamilton was rescued from a high-kill shelter when his time was up and is just a sweet boy! He is good with everyone and just a good dog all around! He needs to be microchipped and fixed which will cost $105.
Eleos ~
Oh, where do I even start with our sweet girl Eleos?! Eleos was rescued after a HORRIBLE human poured gasoline on her and lit her on fire. She was burnt badly, in pain, had been horribly overbred, has teeth issues and some issues with her eyes from the fire. Her spirit was totally broken and just basically was at the point of giving up. She is now feeling better, we are building her spirit back up and she is not in any pain. She is on a special diet and taking vitamins for her skin. She loves to sunbathe and is just the most sweet girl despite all she has been through. She is just so thankful to finally have someone who cares and loves her. She needs to go back to the vet to get a Bloodwork recheck and also needs a dental done. The total cost for this is $325.
Chili ~
Chili was rescued out of a high-kill shelter in Miami and is so sweet! He did test positive for Heartworm and needs treatment which will cost $460
Champ and Lennie ~
Champ and Lennie were surrendered to a high-kill shelter after their owner was moving and couldn't take them with. Their time was running out and SCR saved these two bonded boys. They are so sweet and so good. They both need vetting which will cost $150.
