Who are we, and why are we asking for your hard-earned money?
We're a group of high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Sonoran Science Academy in Tucson, Arizona that love trivia. And by love trivia, I mean we REALLY love it - we make it a part of our daily lives. FOr example, we have mastered Trivia Crack, and play against both ourselves and strangers in Protobowl in our spare time. We also schedule sessions during the week to practice official NAQT questions with one another, and even go so far as to research our favorite things and present them to the rest of our club so we can ALL reap the benefits of shared knowledge.
We're a brand new Quizbowl team this year and - shock of shocks - we've managed to do amazingly well in the competitions we've attended. So well we've been invited to the NAQT Small School National Championship! Awesome, right?
Yeah! Except... it's in Atlanta, and - like we mentioned before - we're in Tucson, clear across the country. We'll need to fly there. We'll also need to stay in a hotel. Heck, registering for the competition itself is $600, plus wouldn't it be awesome for us to go on a campus tour of Georgia Tech and maybe see the Coke factory, too? We're coming up with a whole host of ways to pay for this trip, including using parent donated tax credit money and hosting local trivia nights with prizes, but any help we can get from the kind people on the internet would be amazing and very much appreciated!
What we promise to do:
1) Update our photo to something way better. Our first trophy is cool, but you probably want to see our smiling faces.
2) Practice our butts off, keep scored rankings (which we'll update on here!), and keep going to the competitions to get better and better!
3) OWN our competition at Small Schools Nationals!
