Send a Solar Suitcase Abroad

Donation protected
These students are the founding members of the Engineering Club at school. One of the projects they've decided to tackle is the Solar Suitcase provided by We Care Solar and PG&E.
In this project, the students were provided a rugged suitcase, a microcontroller, battery, and wires and parts. Their goal was to build a "suitcase" that could be used to provide power to underserved locations. They had to apply their knowledge of engineering, as well as learn many new things about solar panels, quality control, and design. Fulfilling this part of the project, they are ready to move onto their next phase: fundraising in order to send the suitcase abroad to a developing region around the world.
The We Share project sends these suitcases, built by students, to locations around the world. These suitcases provide incomparably useful electricity to places that previously had no reliable access. Previous solar suitcases have been sent to hospitals that aren't connected to grids, a refugee camp in Kenya, a community center in Peru, and elsewhere. These projects provide reliable electrical power to places that otherwise would have none, and empower the local community to educate, heal, and do business.
These students are really excited to have their work sent to somewhere in need. They are really passionate about the need for engineering that tackles global issues, and this project was a great way for them to focus that zeal. It is a considerable cost to send this suitcase abroad (quality testing, shipping, hiking it to the village, teaching the local villagers to maintain it), and the due date is January 26th, 2018. Help us send this abroad.

Student bios:

Yonghao: Sophomore, interested in robotics and anything to do with technology such as coding etc.
William: Sophomore, interested in pretty much everything to do with robotics, electronics, and remote controls.
Jose: Junior, interested in robotics and tech, and much more.
