Dare2Care is a non-profit organization founded in Cleveland, Ohio, empowering high school students to prevent the bullying of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. By motiviating and informing students through scholarship opportunities and mentorship programs, Dare2Care works to create an inclusive community for all teens.
The Problem:
Four out of five students report being bullied because of their actual or perceived sexual or gender orientation. One study also found that LGBTQ teens are seven times more likely to have attempted suicide than their straight peers.
The Goal:
Stop LGBTQ bullying and celebrate the difference.
The Strategy:
We provide scholarships and educational programs to inspire, train and support student leaders in local high schools. These students then help create educational communities free of harassment, intimidation and brutality.
