Saving the family home
Hello~
My name is Jessica and I am posting here in hopes of saving my house, which has been in the family since my grandparents.
Two years ago my grandfather passed away due to cancer eating the lower half of his body. My grandmother, who is still alive, is very ill (diabetic, dementia, and cirrhosis of the liver). She lives in assisted living right now and I have moved into the house. Due to declining health, she will need to go on Medicare. Doing so, we'll be losing the house and I will not have a place to live.
To keep this from happening, I need to raise $20,000 to buy the house from my grandmother. She can't gift it to me due to Medicare nor can she will it. I have to buy it in order to keep the house.
I am a freelance artist and tattooist. I work seven days a week and am currently looking for a third job to help with expenses. I am running against the clock. I need to raise the money by Sept. or I will be without a home.
I can only work so much and spend each day exhausted and each night crying. I am at the end of my rope and I don't know what to do. I've put too much time and effort into fixing the house to walk away and I know it will break my grandmother's heart if we lose it. I am asking for help. Anything is appreciated.
