Pet Rescue Detroit/Pontiac

Hi, 
I'm just a girl who used to be a homeless addict living alone on the streets of Detroit in the middle of winter. I was staying in a cemetary at one point and thought I was going to freeze to death. I would have loved to not only have a blanket but to have something that someone actually put time and thought and love into to hold onto alone out there at night. I simply had the idea that if I start now I can probably have around 1000-2000 knitted blankets, scarves and hats by the time winter rolls around again at which point I will give some to shelters but mainly I want to go out and hand them out  myself.  Just nice looking, warm, hand-knitted things to keep people warm. This is my dream to be able to help in SOME way, even if it isn't a huge thing I feel like it's at least something. And only other's who have actually been out there alone at night on the street with no one to go to and nowhere to go could understand how much it would mean to not only have the stuff to keep warm but to be able to hold onto something someone made themselves and gave to you personally. Whether some of you don't understand that or not, I believe that it would really be very comforting. I hope that some of you can help. If not, I understand, but I talked to a friend who also used to be homeless in Detroit and he said I should give this a try. So, here I am. :) Thanks very much to those who can give anything.
