Sasha's Cancer Treatment & Vet Bills

Donation protected
This page is dedicated soley to raise funds for Sasha buddy's bladder cancer treatments as well as her extra vet check ups (the ones that I have to take her to to check her cell blood count and get her screened to see how she is doing with her treatments.) The only reasons I am doing this is because 1-I love Sasha with all of my heart and 2-I don't have this amount of money to be dishing out in such a short amount of time. Any little bit will help. Really. If not, please spread the word. We would really appreciate it!

A little info on Sasha and myself:

Sasha has been in our family for as long as I can remember. She was given to my grandma by a friend who was moving out of the country, when I was in the 6th grade. She was only couple of years old. Here we are, 15 years later, and Sasha is still here.

A few years ago, I "inherited" Sasha from my aging grandma who can no longer care for Sasha as she grows older with her dementia. My grandma is in a care home, so all Sasha has left is me, and all I have left is Sasha.

What I found out about her that I never knew before was what a wonderful cat she is. She's just like a dog. She wakes me up in the morning if I sleep too long. She waits for me to come home after work. She perches herself just so she can see out the doorway, so she can watch me if I walk out of the room. She's a loving, sweet, affectionate kitty that has grown as attached to me as I am to her. I love her like I would my own child.

She has grown older, and aged pretty well, all things considered. My grandma had never really taken her to the vet, so when I started to care for her, that's the first thing I did. I had come to find out that Sasha is in the stages of kidney failure, and though stable, her kidneys are operating at about 25% according to our primary vet. We have to water down her wet food, and keep her well hydrated, and she has to go in to the vet every other week to get intravenous fluids pumped into her. She also has a thickened intestine lining as well which causes her to not be able to absorb as much nutrients as she really needs. She's on medication for that now, but she still weighs only about 6.8-7+ lbs (on a good day it's 7+).

Most recently, I've been having to deal with her urinating, defacating and vomiting everywhere. The bed. My clothes. The stairwell. The carpet. The bath mat. Everywhere.

What it took the vets (both her primary vet as well as a specialty animal oncologist) a while to find out was that she had a bladder tumor. It is a tumor that is growing around the lining of her bladder that they deduced to be Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC).

I was DEVASTATED and cried my eyes out for the first few days of finding out.

Because other than her medical problems, she's acting like her sweet, loving, noisy, lively, self, as if nothing was wrong with her. Now everytime I look at my precious cat, I think, "my poor kitty is sick!"

I started this page because I really need the help to fund her cancer treatment and to help pay for her adjoining vet bills. The ultrasound alone was $400. That was when we found out about the mass.

Then her consultation as well as her first treatment of chemo was $800. Each treatment she has after this, scheduled at every other week, is going to cost me $300. She needs to get her cell blood count between treatments which is about $100 each time, and she also needs to get another ultrasound halfway through which is another $400.

My goal is to raise $5000 for her cancer treaments and vet bills because that's how much I'm anticipating it all costing at the rate that they've given me (if not more) in addition to what I have already incurred in vet bills for this situation.

Personally, I am in the process of selling my most expensive electronics and personal possessions to help me pay for these bills. I make a very meager paycheck that goes mostly towards food, my car bill, and my credit card bills. Anything extra goes to Sasha's vet bills.

I love my cat with all my heart. Any little bit will help me and help Sasha.

I have tons of pictures of her on Instagram under the hashtag #SashaBuddy if you'd like to see her and will upload as much as I can to this page. My public instagram is @krystnsays.

I will also try to upload my vet bills to show you all as much proof as I can that this is a legitimate request.
