Remembering Cyclist Donny McCluskey

Donny pedaled as hard and fast as he could but unfortunately, we only get one life here on earth. Donny died on his bike on April 18, 2012 via a distracted driver from massive trauma.
His family and friends miss him everyday but know that the bystanders, emergency responders, doctors and nurses at the hospital did everything in their power to save him. We need to support the work and passion of this new generation who are bringing health care to our communities and our families. I like to imagine that a nurse held his hand as he exited this life and went on to meet his maker because that is what nurses do.
In honor and memory of Donny, we would like to set up a scholarship for a Graduate or Doctoral student at WesternU College of Health Science. This student will be awarded a one time scholarship based on their contribution to community health and hopefully, a cycling or sport passion.
Donny would be very proud of us and it will help him live on in a meaningful way.
