Ron Barnum's Tranplant Fund

Donation protected

Ron was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of 10 following a diabetic coma. His youth was never hindered, however, with phrase "I Can't" due to his disease. In High School, Ron competed in football, basketball and baseball. He and his twin brother even received magazine coverage as a QB/RB team leading their team to State Championships.

After responsibly managing his diabetes for years, Ron was recently put on peritoneal dialysis due to kidney failure.  He chose this method because it would allow him more time with his family. Ron spends ten hours a day on dialysis. He has been advised by his doctors, due to his age and relatively stable condition, that he should wait for a pancreas/kidney transplant.

Due to the dialysis and his health he has been unable to continue his employment.  His wonderful wife, Lisa, is currently trying to meet the family's financial needs.  The additional cost the transplant will incur is at present more than she can contemplate.

We hope this site can provide a way for those of us who care about and are inspired by this good man and his family to help meet the transplant needs.  Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.
