Hello! My name is Caleb Austin Smith.
I’m a 28 year old rollerblader from Des Moines, Iowa and it’s my dream to rollerblade around the world.
Starting with South America.
On this adventure I want to live and blade a minimalist lifestyle, reducing my impact on the earth. Sharing my love for this planet, and respect for everything else inhabiting it.
Covering a distance of over 3,500 miles across lands and cultures, pushing myself to extreme physical and mental levels of athleticism.
While also better understanding the people around me, how they live and what makes them human.
I want to be a role model and ambassador for helmet awareness. Those who know me know I strongly advocate the use of helmets. I want to help break the stigma on wearing a helmet and show children and adults that taking care of your brain is important.
I have a personal goal of gaining century titles (100 miles/1 day) in every country I blade through.
Finally, I want to use these experiences and the tools of social media to share my feelings and thoughts on this world. Hopefully connecting strangers and ultimately changing this world I exist in for the better.
That being said, I’m trying to meet a goal of $5,000 in support of this dream.
This would be used to cover the cost of:
• Wheels and bearings necessary to make the distance. (approx. 3,500 miles)
• A spare set of frames/boots and parts necessary as things wear out.
• General supplies needed while living on the road.
• Emergency situations.
I know this is a wild dream, but I feel compelled to follow my passion and stay true to myself in a time where so many of us feel lost in our pursuit of life.
For what you feel it is worth with your help I can become an ambassador of love, kindness and radical badass rollerblading everywhere. Together we can spread good vibes, helping others to realize their dreams and passions are attainable.
