Rockaway Mini Bowl

Donation protected
The B91 Skatepark in Rockaway, New York was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Every year since, Jimmy Dowd and I have collaborated on adding new features or doing crucial maintenance.

For 2015, we have the privilege of bringing an $18,000 mini bowl built for a pop-up store in Manhattan thanks to Converse and Noah Clothing.

Rockaway’s seaside climate requires that the bowl be fully weatherproofed and layered in Skatelite. We need it to withstand Mother Nature—and to do that, we your help!

Your donations will cover costs for these specific materials:

-15 sheets of Skatelite for the finish layer
-26 sheets of 3/4" marine-grade ply for the decks and enclosures
-Incidental lumber and building materials like screws, etc.

This budget is tight—we’ll work hard to outfit the bowl for the least amount possible. Any remaining funds raised through this site will be donated to the Andy Kessler Foundation, which, in the name of our friend Andy Kessler, provides community outreach to people in need through art, music, and skateboarding.

Let’s all pitch in and get Rockaway a new bowl!
