Sister Cyril will illuminate her experiences with this school of 1,500 girls located in the congested city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) a city of 15 million people. This amazing school is successfully integrating the “haves” with the “have nots” .
She has a vivacious personality and expresses herself in an articulate way – with many personal stories.
Sister Cyril is a true successor to Mother Teresa. She works in the same area of Calcutta where Mother Teresa worked – but focuses her mission on educating the poor children of the street – rather than on the elderly dying on the streets.
She has an extensive bio beginning with “Internationally recognized educational innovator" and winner of the ‘Padma Shri’ award – India’s fourth-highest civilian award. She was born in Ireland but has devoted her life to bringing better education to the poor children of India. In her 30 years as Principal of a Loreto School in Calcutta, she transformed a former “upper class” school into a thoroughly integrated place with students who reach out to the community with many community service projects.
