Greetings from the Beloit Memorial High School Rising Knights! It is with great pleasure that we introduce our fourth annual college tour, in conjunction with the Minority Excellence Organization (MEO). Previous years' tours were a complete success, as several of our students not only attended Historically Black Colleges and Universities, but several of them went on academic scholarships!
The Rising Knights HBCU College Tour, which will take place from March 25 - April 1, 2015, strives to stimulate an interest, among select students, in attending one of the 105 public or privately supported HBCUs. We will be attending six HBCUs: Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Talladega College, Tuskegee University and Alabama State University. Our students will receive an enhanced awareness of the academic programs, entrance requirements, career opportunities, social and emotional support mechanisms and financial resources offered by HBCUs. In addition, our own Knightingales Step Team will be performing! The trip will also include time where the youth will be able to see the most popular sites and attractions in the areas, as well as participate in a community service project in the Atlanta area.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take these trips for free. The families must pay a great deal out of pocket and we still must fundraise for the remainder of the balance. This is where you come in! Please consider taking the opportunity to partner with our organization for raising funds to make our students dreams come true. Every little bit counts! Thank you, in advance.
