HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
My name is Ashley Moriarty and I am a 6th grade teacher at East Elementary in Pendleton, IN. My class had the wonderful opportunity of going to the Challenger Learning Center for a field trip on Monday April 6th. They had a great time and they learned a lot. It ignited fires in many of them to pursue careers in the science field. The students flourished and were successful at tasks that they thought they could not accomplish.
Upon finishing up our field trip, we learned that this would be the Challenger Center’s last year in operation because of a lack of funding. This upset my students and myself. As a first year teacher, I still remember my 6th grade field trip to the Challenger Center and I was looking forward to many more years of sharing this opportunity with more students.
In response to hearing this news, my students decided to write letters and contact news stations to spread the word about these unfortunate events.
We are all hoping that you could make a donation to help us ensure the Challenger Center will live on for future generations.
