Thank you for visiting.
When I started this campaign last Wednesday I had called the United Way to seek assistance and their only suggestion was to go to a shelter. I couldn't prove my income so I found that other assistance was not going to happen. So I turned to this campaign for a solution.
This hasn't been easy as you might expect. It is humbling. I think about how or why people help others.
I am changing the amount I need. It started at $2,550 because I not only needed to move out of my roommate's place and find another I needed food and to catch up on my car payments so that I can work. Well, I got a job today but my car is still in jeopardy of being taken.
I'm kind of resourceful but not resourceful enough to get to the amount I need. So I still need another $530 as I will not be paid in time to pull off stopping the repossession.
I am so thankful for the people who've opened their wallet to help me through this situation. I am not here to take advantage of anyone so $950 is all I need and won't ask for more.
Just so you have an idea of who I am.
In my life I have enjoyed successes and when that happened I was gererous to those in need. On December 5th, 2005 I was driving my work van on Highway 55 near Cape Girardeau, Missouri. There was eighteen inches of snow on the ground there and ahead of me was a black man walking in a sweatshirt. I stopped and took him to my home town of Fenton, Missouri. We were in each other's path for a reason and I was in a position to help him, I did. He was a homeless man with a third grade education whose mother was dying of cancer. I fed and clothed him and gave him money to get on a bus to visit his mother.
My next opportunity was in Denver Colorado where I came across a family in need. They were foreigners trying to get to California for their green card court date. Finding help for these people rested on me and a generous stranger. In the end I loaded a grocery cart and gave them all of the cash Ihad in my checking account. My fiends called me crazy but it didn't matter, I was going to be paid again the following Friday.
I never did any of those things for a return or for favor from friends, in fact few people know that I did it until now.
With your help I will bounce back so that I may one day be on the giving end of that equasion.
Thank you again for visiting and thank you for considering helping me.
