Remove a convicted murderer from being Executor

Donation protected
Carol Taggart was murdered in December 2014 by her own son who is also the executor of her estate. His sister Lorraine was told back in 2015 that if she were to take this case to a court to have him removed she would have a 50/50 chance of winning. It is now 4 years on and nothing has changed with the way he is managing the estate. Lorraine was recently told that if she were to take this to a court now she could win. Unfortunately this is going to cost an estimated and unreal £40,000 to take to court to try have him removed as Executor of his victims (his own Mother who he murdered) estate. The money raised would be used towards the courts costs to have this monster removed and allowing the family some closure.

He is currently serving a life sentence in prison in Scotland for murdering his own mother, however he was named as the Executor of her estate and holds this position even though he is now in jail for her murder. Lorraine (his sister) is now trying to fight this, Hopefully if successful the Scottish Government will recognise this and agree to change the succession laws in Scotland.

Lorraine is unable to access her Mothers house to sort through the mess that has been left since 2014. Everything belonging to her family is locked away in a house that a convicted murderer makes the decisions about.

Lorraine and her father have been unable to move on with their lives since this happened in 2014 and would like some closure on this. However as a convicted murderer is in charge of the estate they are unable to access the family home to empty/clean it up to be sold as he continues to reject requests to access the house to do this.

The below gives a brief explanation of what Ross Taggart did to his own Mother.

A man has been found guilty of murdering his mother and disposing of her body under a caravan in Fife.

Ross Taggart, 31, throttled 54-year-old Carol Taggart after an argument shortly before Christmas 2014.

The judge told him: "How you have lived with your conscience since you murdered your mother, I do not know."

Lord Uist said: "You have been convicted by the unanimous verdict of the jury of the terrible crime of the murder of your own mother, a woman who did a great deal, indeed probably too much, for you in the course of her life.

"In the course of an argument on December 21 or 22 2014 you caused her head injuries and throttled her to death.

"You thereafter embarked on a calculated course of deceit by reporting her as missing to the police and persistently lying about your actions."

The judge, Lord Uist, sentenced him to life in prison and ordered him to serve a minimum of 18 years.

Taggart had denied murdering his mother on 21 or 22 December 2014 at the house they shared at Hill of St Margaret in Dunfermline.

Taggart was also convicted for attempting to pervert the course of justice after he hid his mother's body within a caravan park in Pettycur Bay, Kinghorn.

He was found guilty after a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Please see my petiton below to have the succession laws in Scotland changed. Hopefully by having this law changed this will help other people should they end up in this situation.
