Remembering Noreen Armstrong

Donation protected
The first Noreen Armstrong Memorial Ladies Lunch was held in 2016. We raised an amazing €10,000 for the Breast Cancer Care & Research Unit in St. Vincent’s Foundation, Dublin.  We were overwhelmed by the generosity of family and friends who supported the cause.

Two years on and we want to do more - our aim this year is to focus on Breast Cancer Patient Care for St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

Coming to terms with the diagnosis of breast cancer is a personal journey for all those who have gone through it...the physical effects, like losing your hair, some would say is one of the more distressing parts of the journey.

Our aim is to raise enough funds to provide St. Vincent’s University Hospital with a Scalp Cooling Therapy Unit (Cold Cap unit).

John Hickey, Chief Executive of St. Vincent’s Foundation, supports this cause fully, “While Cold Cap Therapy is not suitable for all oncology patients, it is for many. Those for whom it is suitable benefit from avoidance or reduction in hair loss associated with chemotherapy. This is an important facet of patient care. Hair loss is distressing and is particularly relevant to patients being treated for breast cancer”.

The cost of a Scalp Cooling Therapy Unit will be €15,000 - a big jump from our inaugural event but we have every faith and determination that we will achieve our goal with the most appreciated support you can imagine.

Our Noreen Armstrong Memorial Ladies Lunch will host 250 fabulous ladies, all greatly supporting this cause. This GoFundMe page is for anyone wishing to contribute and support us. Sadly breast cancer touches the lives of too many families - help us make things easier for those under-going treatment now and in the future.

Our final thought is for our dear Noreen, who’s 9th anniversary it will be on Nov 3rd 2018 - the day of our event. We know she is very proud of all her family and friends and loved us all very much.

She would be very proud of the amazing support for all those going through Breast Cancer Care.
