Send Direct Aid to Nepal's Villages

Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal on April 25, we are raising money to deliver relief goods to villages which have been very slow to receive aid, if any at all.

The initiative started in Narayangadh, a city which is strategically located on one of the main roads south of the most heavily affected areas and has good connections with India. Necessary goods such as tents, food, water, medicine and soap can be acquired easily here, but adequate funding is lacking.

We are a team of about 35, including several doctors and a medical crew, who saw a need and rushed to do something about it. Many bureaucratic and government rules have prevented aid from getting to the villages. Like many others in Nepal, we are doing this independently of any organization to ensure that the aid actually reaches the people. They are pleading for help. Hundreds of thousands are without shelter and the monsoon season is only weeks away. Our entire team is made up of volunteers and we have been working relentlessly for their benefit.

Because we are not with an organization and because we are already on the ground, ALL of the money will be spent on aid and relief materials, NONE will be wasted on expensive administrative/operating costs. Your money will also bypass the government red-tape which has hindered so many organizations and slowed down relief efforts immensely. We deliver the goods personally and directly, document every purchase and penny spent, and take photos throughout the process to allow transparency. Additionally, for all fundraisers benefiting earthquake victims, GoFundMe is donating back it's 5% donation fee to AmeriCares. 


Our missions have been very successful. As a result, word has gotten around the villages and many have contacted us for help. With enough funding, we can reach more of them and, as we get into phase 2, scale up to assist in village reconstruction.

Families receive individual relief packs which include the following items (prices listed in brackets. 100 Nepali rupees = 1 USD):

-1 Tarpaulin for constructing a temp. shelter [408 rupees]

-2 kg of beaten rice [100 rupees]

-1 hand towel [110 rupees]
-1 foam mattress [200 rupees]

-2 packages salt [17 rupees]
-1 bottle of mustard oil [134 rupees]
-Masala spices [60 rupees]
-Chili powder [20 rupees]
-Turmeric powder [20 rupees]
-1.5 cups of dal [150 rupees]
-5 pcs. soap [already donated]
-Medicine tablets [already donated]
-Sanitary pads [already donated]

TOTAL cost of one family relief pack: 2090 Nepali rupees (roughly 20.90 USD or 18.74 EU)
