A true story of a father's dream and his son's mission to become an NBA basketball player. Against all odds, Russ Jr. wanted to be like dad. Russell Smith, Sr. played basketball overseas in Africa. Russ Jr. was his father's shadow, he wanted to be a ball player just like his dad. Russ Sr. saw his son's interest and decided to teach him the game. As Russ Jr. got older and developed a love for the game, he lead the Catholic League in scoring for two years in a row and still was not recruited. He was determined to rise to the top. Russ Sr. continue to encouraged his son to work hard and never give up. Russ Jr. was offered a full scholarship to the University of Louisville, where he became one of the greatest players of all time.
