Stella's medical fund!

Stella is our 16 month old American Bulldog.  She is a comedian, a protector, and always full of energy.  One morning this past January we woke up to let Stell and her sister Zita out for their morning excercise.  We noticed that Stella wasnt herself and would not get out of her kennel.  She was sad and not even a treat would get her out.  Finally, we picked her up and noticed she was unable to stand on her hind legs.  She was quickly taken to the vet and had xrays done.  They sent us home with an anitinflamitory and said it was sore muscles.  The meds helped mask her pain just a little and when the perscription was gone she, again, was unable to walk and seemed like she was in even more pain then before.  After several trips back and forth to the Vet and trying other doctors we finaly found a Vetterian that gave us the answer.  Stella has two torn ACL's in her hind legs, and we were given the price tag of 3500-4000 per leg, thats a grand total of 7-8000 dollars.  We felt we were backed into a corner, she is not just a dog but our family member.  We have raised her from a pup along with her sister Zita and our two children.  The four of them are inseperable.  We knew we couldn't afford to get the surgery done, my husband is laid off from work, it was looking as if our only option was to surrender her.  Just writing that makes me so sad, the thought of her goofy self not being here just dosen't seem right.  My husband did some research and found Sheri Berliner photographer and owner of petraits pet photography. She was gracious enough to recommend a vetterian that works with people in our situation and also took these beautiful pictures of our girl Stella and her human, our daughter Francesca.  This is our last chance to keep our family together.  We have never had to ask for help in situations in our family, but we did not expect to fall on hard times at the same time one of our family members need our help. If there is anything, anyone can donate to help us raise the money to help our Stella we would be more than grateful.
