Rats vs. Aliens: The Screen Play

There is nothing like watching a flight of bombers roar over your head and knowing that each one of them is flown by a brother in arms.  There is nothing like creeping through the underbrush only to have the sound of an enemy tank fire up its engines just meters away, the deep creaking of its tracks filling you with dread, hoping (usually beyond hope) that its attention does not turn to you.  And what to say about the brutal, hand to hand combat that permeates the cities, the rooftops, and sometimes even the countryside?

The bottom line is that World War Two Online , despite its quirks, has the ability to startle and thrill (and suck hours of your life away). 

This massively multi-player game has been running since 2001, and I was there.  And I'm still there.  And would you believe that I'm willing to pay for the privilege?  You bet I am.

I want to give back.  I want to find a way to tell even more people about the game.  I have a novel solution:  a movie, based on the game.  Indeed, I've already written the novel!

But, if you're going to make a movie, you need more than a book.  To even get started, you need a screenplay.  Thus, the next step to making the movie a reality is to write the screenplay.      Once that is in hand, options and opportunities are available that just don't exist without the screenplay.

This campaign will finance my writing of the screenplay, adapting it from my novel.

Main Goal:  $2,100

Secondary Goal:  $5,000

If the first goal is met, the additional money will be used to bring into the project more experienced screenwriters.

Any funds beyond the Secondary Goal will go towards the actual production of the movie, slated to begin filming the summer of 2016.
