Rally 4 Ryan

Donation protected
Who do you think of when you hear the phrase, "He's a good guy"? For me, I think of my cousin Ryan. Ryan is a guy whom everyone loves and wants to be friends with. He is kind, caring, thoughtful, and loves his family and friends more than anything. He is often quiet and reserved, but speaks volumes through actions of love. He gives the best hugs! Ryan has the kindest smile, the most contagious laugh and everyone enjoys being around him.

Unfortunately, Ryan was involved in a motorcycle accident on the night of Friday, June 12, 2015 when his motorcycle and another car collided. Ryan was immediately rushed to the hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Luckily Ryan was wearing his helmet, as he always does, which may have ultimately saved his life.  He spent nearly 5 days in the trauma unit undergoing a series of tests and evaluations to determine the extent of his injuries.  Ryan broke his right arm, 3 ribs, tore the ligaments in his left knee, chipped a tooth and has a liver contusion.

Ryan is slowly feeling better and stronger each day but has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. He's since been tranfered to the rehabilitation unit of the hospital and is receiving occupational and physical therapy services 3 times daily. Once strong enough, he will need surgery on his left knee for the torn ligaments. He will be following up with his trauma doctor and a plastic surgeon soon to determine if he needs surgery on his right broken arm.  His doctors are also closely monitoring the contusion to his liver.

Undoubtedly, Ryan is currently in pain and due to being an unemployed graduate student who was supposed to begin an internship on Monday, June 15, 2015, he has no means to pay for his continued therapies, upcoming surgeries and extended hospital stay once his insurance discontinues coverage.

On the behalf of our loving family, I'm asking that you please take the time to make a monetary donation to help Ryan recover without the worry of paying for necessary medical bills. Any amount, small or large, is helpful and appreciated.  Please share Ryan's story on your social media pages (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and help this great guy during his time of need. Ryan is passionate about animals receiving proper care and treatment; therefore, money that is raised beyond Ryan's medical expenses will be donated to a charity such as the ASPCA or a wildlife foundation of his choosing.

Thank you very much for reading Ryan's story and helping a kind and loving young man during this difficult time in his life.
